Le Coran insiste sur le don sous des formes multiples et variées. Nous défendons l’idée de la présence écrasante du don dans le Coran sous une forme spécifique que nous qualifierons de « don hiératique ». Mais, dans le Coran, le don ne vise pas primordialement à établir un lien d’échange entre donateur et donataire. Le donateur donne à une personne, souvent pauvre ou indigente, mais ce n’est pas ce dernier qui prend en charge le contre-don, mais Dieu. Ce type de don a un rôle de régulateur social et d’atténuateur de la pauvreté et des disparités de classe.

The Koran insists on the gift in multiple and varied forms. We defend the idea of the overwhelming presence of the gift in the Koran in a specific form that we will call “hieratic gift.” But in the Koran, the gift is not primarily aimed at establishing an exchange link between the donator and the donne. The donor makes the donation to the other, often poor or needy, but it is not the latter who takes charge of the counter-donation, but God. This type of donation has a role of social regulator and attenuator of poverty and class disparity.
