Το Kυριακό της βατοπεδινής Σκήτης του Αγίου Δημητρίου στο Άγιον Όρος, άλλοτε καθολικό της βυζαντινής Μονής του Χαλκέως, αποτελείται από τον κυρίως ναό του 11ου αιώνα (σύνθετος τετρακιόνιος σταυροειδής εγγεγραμμένος, «αθωνικού τύπου», με πλευρικούς χορούς και διώροφο αρχικά νάρθηκα), τη λιτή και τον εξωνάρθηκα (μετασκευές του 18ου αιώνα), όπως και το παρεκκλήσι του Αγίου Νικολάου. Το βυζαντινό καθολικό παρουσιάζει αρκετές αναλογίες με τα αντίστοιχα των Μονών Ιβήρων και Βατοπεδίου και θα πρέπει να οικοδομήθηκε λίγο αργότερα από αυτά.

The Dominicum of the Skete of St. Demetrios belonging to the Vatopedi Monastery on Mt. Athos, formerly the katholikon of the Byzantine Monastery of Chalkeos, consists of the main church dated to the 11th century (cross-in-square church-complex four-columned type, “Athonitetriconch type”, with side choirs and originally a two-storyn arthex), the lite and the exonarthex (restorations of the 18th century), as well as the chapel of St. Nicholas. The Byzantine katholikon is quite similar to the respective chapels of the Iviron and Vatopedi Monasteries and most likely was built slightly later than these.
