a) US40000 in PPL and XPL. Vesicular, porphyritic. Phenocrysts of idiomorph to hypidiomorph clinopyroxene and xenomorph olivine with iddingsite rims. Matrix composed of plagioclase laths in a seriate grain size, sanidine, clinopyroxene, opaque grains (probably magnetite), clusters of opque grains as result of opacitized clinopyroxene, olivines, altered to iddingsite, nepheline and apatite. b) FS30230US30779 in in PPL and XPL. Vesicular, porphyritic. Phenocrysts of olivines, often skeletal, strongly to completely altered to iddingsite. The holocystalline matrix composed of plagioclase and sanidine laths of homogeneous grain size, with flow structures around olivine phenocrysts, granular clinopyroxene, completely altered olivine and opaque grains.
