Leopold Lucas, « Tourists and the City: Knowledge as a Challenge for Inhabiting », HAL-SHS : géographie, ID : 10.1007/978-3-030-52136-3_3
This chapter emphasizes the fact that inhabiting a city must not be taken for granted for tourists: to cope with an unusual urban space is a problem, and knowledges are on the heart of this challenge. The argumentation will be drawing on Alfred Schutz’ theory of the stock of knowledge and will be empirically based on interviews conducted during a survey about tourists practices in Los Angeles.
