Résumé
This dataset contains phenotypic data for apple genetic resources from six European institutes. A total of 1194 unique genotypes (mainly old dessert apple cultivars) were phenotyped for at least one trait. Five traits, fruit over-color, fruit acidity, fruit crispness, fruit juiciness and harvest date, are made available in this dataset. The data were obtained from 1984 to 2014, as part of the genetic resources characterization mission of the institutes. Traits were evaluated according to the recommendations of the European Cooperative Programme for Plant Genetic Resources (ECPGR). This dataset was used in the paper by Cazenave et al. (2021) "Combining genetic resources and elite material populations to improve the accuracy of genomic prediction in apple", G3: Genes, Genomes, Genetics.
