La recherche INRP « Didactisation de la lecture et de l'écriture littéraires du récit à l'école, cycles 2 et 3 », se donne pour objectif de déterminer et d'éprouver les conditions favorisant l'initiation précoce des élèves à la lecture littéraire, initia¬ tion jugée possible et nécessaire dès l'entrée dans l'apprentissage de l'écrit. La recherche pose que les élèves ne peuvent être initiés à la lecture littéraire, comme activité de résolution de problèmes, que sur des textes résistants. Elle distingue parmi les textes résistants, les textes réticents qui posent des problèmes de compréhension délibérés et les textes proliférants qui posent des problèmes d'interprétation. Une telle distinction a pour ambition d'aider les maîtres à repérer, dans la production des récits destinés à la jeunesse, ceux qui se prêtent à une lecture littéraire, à catégoriser les problèmes qu'ils posent pour ensuite développer les connaissances culturelles et les savoir-faire spécifiques, imaginer des dispositifs didactiques efficaces permettant aux élèves d'identifier à leur tour ces problèmes et de les résoudre dans l'éventuelle pluralité des réponses possibles.
