THE ICE-IPAC PROJECT: TESTING THE PROTOCOL ON NORWEGIAN AND FRENCH LEARNERS OF ENGLISH

This paper presents theoretical and methodological aspects, as well as some preliminary results, of a recently developed research project on the interphonology of contemporary English. The ICE- IPAC project offers to compile a phonetico- phonological learner corpus of English, with focus on variation in both segmental and suprasegmental phenomena observed in learner speech in EFL and ESL contexts.
