Résumé 0

This study examines the relationship between family practices around books and the vocabulary level of 261 29-month-old children in day care, 128 of which were followed in kindergarten (PS). In the nursery, they were given a vocabulary test in reception and their parents informed their practices around the book and the vocabulary level of their child. In PS, children’s skills in phonology, vocabulary and morphosyntax were assessed. The results reveal that family practices around the book before entering kindergarten have an impact on the vocabulary level of children in nursery and persist on expressive language in PS.
