Résumé En

The paper draws from a hermeneutic phenomenological research study, which aims to explore mathematics teachers' lived experiences of teachable moments. Building on a previously published CERME article that focused on the personal lived experience of teachable moments through storytelling in mathematics teaching, this paper presents the results of the next stage of the research, which centers on the lived experiences of mathematics teachers. Specifically, the paper presents the lived experience of one of the teachers participating in the study through a crafted story derived from the interviews. The story reveals what it is like for teachers to experience teachable moments and how moment-to-moment teaching of mathematics is a complex balancing act between knowledge, emotions, and actions.
