Emmanuel Schang et al., « Histoire des créoles et génétique : le cas de l'angolar. », HAL-SHS : linguistique, ID : 10670/1.tlkjm9
This paper deals with Angolar, a Portuguese-based Creolespoken on São Tomé Island (Gulf of Guinea). Firstly, we present thelinguistic arguments which show that Angolar and Forro (the mainCreole language spoken on São Tomé Island) share a commonancestor (proto-creole). Secondly, we discuss the impact of recentgenetic studies which aim to bring decisive arguments to explain theorigin of Angolar Creole. We show that the misinterpretation ofthese genetic data might confirm the preconceived colonialist ideas.
