Lors de la pandémie de Covid-19, l’Anses a rapidement contribué à préciser les scénarios d’exposition humaine au nouveau coronavirus, pour lequel des transmissions alimentaires, animales et environnementales étaient suspectées, et a mis ses compétences scientifiques au service du dispositif de crise et de la protection de la population, tout en maintenant ses activités habituelles et en continuant à venir en appui à la gestion d’autres crises sanitaires.L’expérience de cette crise souligne l’importance des liens existant entre les agences sanitaires, qui dessinent les bases d’un véritable réseau international de sécurité sanitaire. Elle incite aussi à accélérer l’adoption d’une approche intégrative et globalisée du risque sanitaire. Par ailleurs, l’expertise scientifique est une condition nécessaire mais non suffisante d’une bonne prévention et d’une bonne gestion du risque sanitaire. Mieux nous protéger implique de fortes capacités d’anticipation et de recherche sur les risques émergents ou encore incertains, et d’interroger de façon collective et constructive nos choix de société.
