Ce volume fait partie d’un projet visant à éditer et traduire le recueil médical intitulé Zād al-musāfir wa-qūt al-ḥāḍir (Dispositions pour le voyageur et alimentation pour le sédentaire) compilé au xe siècle par Abū Jaʿfar Aḥmad ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Abī Khālid Ibn al-Jazzār, un médecin de Kairouan. Ibn al-Jazzār étudia avec le célèbre médecin et philosophe juif Isḥāq ibn Sulaymān al-Isrāʾīlī (mort vers 344/955), élève d’Isḥāq ibn ʿImrān, et il ouvrit, par la suite, son propre cabinet dans sa vill...
