Résumé 0

The authors present the results of their survey, set up within the framework of the PLURI-L project with students of an elementary class (CE2), about the different languages used in their school and in the area where the school is located. This was done on the basis of interviews that were conducted by the pupils themselves and that were based upon questionnaires they had prepared and discussed in the classroom. The interviews of 128 children were analyzed. In this unique situation, the students not only collected specific information about the languages used in their school and in their families, but they also formulated and co-constructed representations of plurilingualism. As the third part of the analysis will show, this experience of interviewing peers led the children to take on roles never assigned to them before and therefore to develop their discursive competence.
