With the prospect of an energy transition, the citizens of tomorrow need to be trained and educated to energy savings. In this study, we focused on the points of view of 257 middle school French students, examining by questionnaire their energy practices, which can be influenced by school inputs and family education. According to the quantitative analysis, students generally seemed aware of energy saving actions’ effects and of their implementing, partly because of academic knowledge. However, their actions seemed to be influenced by family practices and living social environment. These results enlightened the adolescent’s awareness by the choices, decisions and actions he/she has to do, questioning the issues of a both school and family education for sustainable development.
