Berta Barquero et al., « TWG2 report: Mathematics for engineers, Mathematical Modelling, Mathematics and other disciplines », HAL-SHS : sciences de l'éducation, ID : 10670/1.xxa2kg
In this contribution we summarize the main leading themes emerged in the discussions within the TWG2: Mathematics for engineers, Mathematical Modelling, Mathematics and other disciplines, depending on if the focus was on the students and teachers-researchers' practices, on the prevailing way to teach and learn university mathematics for engineers and for non-specialists, or on the progresses towards a change of paradigm in maths university teaching. We finish by presenting the discussion concerning the future lines of development and research. More concretely, two main themes appeared around the necessity of rethinking university mathematics curriculum for engineers and non-specialists and to work on looking at what mathematics do the different specialities need, through the collaboration between different communities (mathematicians, didacticians, engineers, among other)
