Résumé 0

While yoga has recently been introduced as a teaching activity in high school PE curricula in France, its teaching remains rare and is limited to only a few teachers with an understanding of the activity. The aim of the study presented here is to examine the experiences of these “pioneering” PE teachers in teaching yoga in PE, and to propose, on the basis of the results, some avenues for training. Conducted within the theoretical framework of culturalist anthropology, the study specifically examines the so-called “substratification” process of PE teachers’ experiences in teaching yoga. The results show that teachers’ activity is informed by a variety of experiences (personal yoga practice experience, experience as a PE teacher, experience of yoga teacher training). Finally, training proposals are put forward to enable PE teachers to offer this activity to their students and thus promote access to wellness activities for all.
